The Yakkers Corner is re-podcasting the interview Muriel did with Mr. Fazle Abed, chairman and founder of BRAC (formerly the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee). Mr. Abed has been working at the grassroots level for over 35 years and has helped to mobilize 70,000 of Bangladesh’s 80,000 villages. Mr. Abed shares his valuable and enlightening message about the people of Bangladesh. This interview with Mr. Abed illustrates what is possible in relation to the Millennium Development Goals.

Mr. Ibrahim Jabr Speaks with Muriel Glasgow about The Preventable Blindness Disease: Trachoma

The Yakkers Corner has the pleasure of yakking with Mr. Ibrahim Jabr, Interim President of the International Trachoma Initiative (trachoma.org). For nearly three years, Mr. Jabr has played a key role in the International Trachoma Initiative’s pioneering work to build partnerships with governments and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) toward the goal of eliminating blinding trachoma by 2020. Mr. Jabr brings extensive experience in child health development and in programmatic strategies for mass action and social mobilization, gained during 29 years working with UNICEF, to his leadership at the International Trachoma Initiative.
